Recording Audio Using the Vocal Booth
Wednesday May 21, 2025 9:00am - 9:45am PDT
We installed a vocal recording booth (also known as a "Whisper Room") in a space on the bottom floor of Watzek this spring.  It was funded as part of a grant related to the Ear Forest in Art. The booth will support ongoing Ear Forest installations along with podcast work, or whatever audio projects folks dream up.
This workshop will include a tour of the recording space along with an overview of how to use and schedule time in the recording booth.

From Standards to Practice - Creating Accessible-First Course Content
Wednesday May 21, 2025 9:00am - 9:45am PDT
As digital accessibility standards, such as the updated ADA Title II standards, continue to evolve, it's crucial to stay informed and proactive about how they impact LMS environments and curricular materials. While public institutions face an April 2026 enforcement deadline for these new standards, they reflect broader trends that will affect all of us. In this session, we'll review some of the relevant rules changes for faculty and course design and discuss strategies to move to accessible-first course design practices. Let's break the expensive and unsustainable cycle of needing to constantly remediate inaccessible content together.
